Studying will mean just using one deck for a set period of time, some say it is best to use a deck for a year but although that might be the easiest way to learn it, it does put you off a bit. Part of the reasons for enjoying reading is because of the different styles, pictures and images involved, do i really want to put all my other lovely decks in a draw and not bother with them for a year...NO. I do my studying for the minimum amount of time needed to get a general "feel" for the way the deck works, and if I need to check something up during a reading, then that I will do rather than trying the impossible task of learning 1000's of meanings for hundreds of decks off by heart.
Reading isn't just about spreading out a deck and saying what you think is right at the time, the cards have to interpreted, and nearly every deck creater whether it be oracle, tarot or anything similar will use differing meanings for the cards. Tarot tend to be a bit more universal and once you can read with one, you can read with most in a fashion, but every oracle deck is entirely differnt and although in some of the cards the picture will speak to you and give you an idea what it's about, sometimes just looking at the card isn't enough and studying the acomponying book to the decks is always handy, if not time consuming.

The following pages will give you an indication  of what it takes to learn new decks along with some sample readings and how I went about learning a deck, aswell as the pitfalls involved.
